Bio
Jessica Mumford, a native of Kalamazoo, MI, completed her BA in dance and psychology at Hope College ('05) her MFA in Dance and Interdisciplinary Digital Media at Arizona State University ('09). Upon completing her masters, Jessica was recognized as the outstanding graduate of the year for the Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts. Her work with movement and media includes dance for camera, audio/visual installations with movement sensing, electronic wearables, and dance/music performance with movement-based control of media. She is currently Faculty Adjunct at Arizona State University in both the School of Dance and the School of Arts, Media, and Engineering and Grand Canyon University. During her dance career, Jessica has had the opportunity to perform for artists such as Nora Chipaumire, Ashleigh Leite, Charlotte Boye-Christensen, Mary Fitzgerald, John Mitchell, Todd Ingalls, Karen Schupp, and Steven Iannacone.
Stunt Weasel, LLC
Upon graduating, Jessica established videography and editing business, Stunt Weasel, LLC. Stunt Weasel provides low cost videography and editing services to local artists, art companies, and small businesses in the Metro Phoenix area. Services provided by Stunt Weasel include concert videography, promotional videos, dance film, instructional videos, and documentary/interview work. Stunt Weasel is the resident videographer for ASU's School of dance and has worked with several local dance companies and small businesses such as Center Dance Ensemble, CONDER/dance, Dias Dance Life, Colligo Marine.
urbanSTEW
In efforts to bring her work to the greater Phoenix community, Jessica is also co-creator and board member of non-profit organization urbanSTEW. As part of urbanSTEW Jessica created "Case Study." She also currated interactive art installations for the '10 Phoenix Fringe Festival, helped produce and run art/technology workshops at MADCAP Theaters, and assisted in the creation and user testing of mobile phone application Rehearsal Assistant.
